Samorn has the arms, head and torso of a human and the wings, legs and tail of a swan.

Species: Kinnaris. A Kinnara is creature from southeast Asian mythology. The Kinnaris (the female counterpart) has the head, arms, and torso of a woman and the wings, tail and legs of a swan. They are said to represent feminine beauty, grace and accomplishment. (Wikipedia ftw XD)
Samorn specifically is a black-necked swan (she has black a mark that covers the whole back of her neck and tips of on either side at her collarbones).

Position(s): Apothecary/Doctor

Skills/Powers: Flight. Knowledgeable about medicinal herbs, plants and even spices.

Weaknesses: Samorn has hollow bones so that she's light enough to fly, but they're very fragile and can break easily. She is also fairly weak and frail in general, relying more on her speed of flight than strength. The mentally unsound bit, she's not necessarily crazy, but over the years her mental has dwindled.

District: Sunshield.

Personality: Samorn rarely shows any real emotion. All of her actions appear to be almost forced and the kindness she shows towards her patients seems entirely unreal. She is almost always smiling, but there's always an underlying darkness to it. She'll often speak slowly and cryptically, but in most cases there's not much to what she actually says. One example of this is her occasional habit pf referring to people as Niran or Kiet if they remind her of them. This is something she does on occasion just satisfy herself, and maybe even to play. It's not delusion or a hallucination. Truthfully, she probably doesn't know why she does it. If she does do this, though, it probably means she likes your OC lol.

Background: Samorn is from the Asian country of Burma. Her family is made up of her husband, Niran, and her son Kiet. (Kiet is 12 years old now. Yes that means she was 16 when he was... conceived XD She's also a swan and sexual maturity for swans is 4 years so there you go XP) She also has a sister, Kanya, and a brother-in-law, Sunan. However, she was separated from her family and hasn't seen Kiet or Niran for about 7 years. Niran had suffered a near fatal incident, and though he did survive, Samorn believes him to be dead. More specifically, murdered. She doesn't know what became of Kiet (he was taken in by Kanya and Sunan) and doesn't permit herself to think that he may have died also without the care of a parent.
With no clues, Samorn went on to travel the world in a halfhearted search for her son, enduring both physical and mental torment in the process. After stumbling upon Silveredge Island, she decided that the birth of the small town may be exactly what she needs to distract herself and, though she won't admit it to herself, give up her hopeless search.

Additional: I just wanted to add something about her style. The leaves on her face a Burmese cosmetic; makeup. They use it to protect against sunburn. She doesn't always wear it and when she does she wears it in a lot of different designs. Also, her clothes. You'll notice she has two wings protruding from her back. This makes it kind of hard for her to wear conventional clothing. What she'll usually do is wear wraps or a brassier with fabric tucked under it to cover herself. Her hair goes down to the small of her back and thins out at the end, but she usually wears it in different styles.
